![]() ![]() ![]() I probably wouldnt go back to the Fun Stop. Most roller coasters take you on a climbing, diving, looping trail around a track that takes a good chunk of lot space. Like I said if you have an hour and about 50 bucks to spent, go for it, my advice as I said, go on to Dollywood. The arcade was about like any other, we spent about 20 for a card and gained about 60 tickets and ended up getting a cheap plastic ring and some tootsie rolls. We went around 930 am and the rides were still wet, make sure you ask the helper to dry them off first. I paid 20 dollars for 8 carnival rides and walked out with one still in my pocket. The ad was misleading as it stated come between 9 and 11 am and its bogo tickets. The bigger track is ok, young teens and older pre-teens. She did enjoy the go-karts, which the ones for little kids under 9 are really slow and the track is very small. The rides are slow and made for non thrills, so older kids would be bored. This place is more like a carnival for very small children. OK, here is my take on the Fun Stop, for the older crowd, it is where fun went to die! Ok, if you are traveling a great distance to the Smoky Mts, and you are probably spending alot of money on a hotel, then my advice, go ahead and spend the extra money and go to Dollywood. This was the highlight of my daughter's trip and we will defiantly come back! They would cover and uncover the machinery when the rain showers would stop for my daughter to ride. The men that ran the rides were also troopers. She was very appreciative that we were there and really went out of her way to make this event enjoyable despite the scattered showers. We enjoyed talking to the lady at ticket booth. For the older kids, they have the bungee launcher and another thing (can't remember). Still though, she had so much fun (even in the rain). My husband had to drive and she was the passenger. She met the height requirement but not the age requirement. FYI: My daughter really wanted to drive the larger race cars but you have to be a certain height AND 10 years old. In addition, Fun Stop has a snack bar/ice cream shop (shaped like an actual ice cream), an arcade, and a race car track for older kids. $210.00 for a family of three to get into Dollywood (just for the rides) or $30.00 to sit on a bench while your child rides safe rides, with little to no lines, in a confined area. This is quite a bit of money for a ticket but you have to think. You can also purchase a 5.00 ticket for kids to drive a mini race car around a small track. Tickets are 3.00 each and become 2.50 after a certain amount. Each ride costs one ticket except for the Fairis Wheel which is 2 tickets. These rides are somewhat kiddy fair type rides such as a merry-go-round, fairis wheel, planes that spin around (pull up on steering wheel to go up and down), etc. Fun Stop has 8 rides for the younger kids. We could buy a few tickets at Fun Stop and she'd be 100 % happy! And, she was except for the rain. ![]() I want to go to that race trac." Bottom line, we realized that we did not have to spend $70.00 a ticket for Dollywood to entertain her. It's like Myrtle Beach times three without the beach! The first day that we drove through Pigeon Forge to our cabin, we heard from our 8 year old, "I want to go on that ride. That's all that was in Pigeon Forge, right? WRONG!!!! OMG!!!! Pigeon Forge has exploded. go to the Dixie Stampede and Dollywood (for the rides only - not shows). As we prepared, with an 8 year old to travel back to Pigeon Forge, we didn't do a lot of research. ![]() When we came through (pre child), there was one or two hotels, the Dixie Stampede (not owned at the time by Dolly), Dollywood, and maybe a restaurant and shop or two. Our story! It has been 15 years since my husband traveled through Pigeon Forge. ![]()
